- Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties.
-
Sear the Patties:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it.
- Sear the hamburger steaks for about 2 minutes per side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
-
Make the Gravy:
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it turns lightly golden.
- Gradually add the beef broth and milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
- Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring the gravy to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
-
Assemble the Dish:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place the seared hamburger steaks into a greased baking dish.
- Pour the gravy over the patties, ensuring they’re well-covered.
-
Bake:
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the hamburger steaks are cooked through and tender.
-
Serve:
- Once done, remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the hamburger steaks with the rich gravy on top. This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes, rice, or a side of vegetables for a comforting family meal.
