Honey Lemon Pepper Wings
Ingredients:
- 10-12 chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper (or more for extra spice)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you're using an air fryer, preheat it to 380°F (190°C).
- Prepare the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. This helps them get crispy when cooked. Toss the wings in olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the wings:
- Oven: Place the wings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack for better airflow. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
- Air Fryer: Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking halfway through.
- Make the sauce: While the wings are cooking, combine the honey, lemon juice, lemon zest, black pepper, and garlic powder (if using) in a small saucepan. Heat on low, stirring until the honey is melted and the ingredients are well combined. Remove from heat.
- Coat the wings: Once the wings are crispy and cooked through, remove them from the oven or air fryer. Toss them in the honey lemon pepper sauce until well coated.
- Serve: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired and serve hot.
