Wonton Soup

 Wonton Soup

Ingredients:

- 1 package of wonton wrappers (about 30 wrappers)

- 1 pound ground chicken or shrimp

- 2 green onions, finely chopped

- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon soy sauce

- 1 teaspoon sesame oil

- Salt and pepper to taste

- 6 cups chicken or vegetable broth

- 2 cups bok choy, chopped

- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (shiitake or button)

- Fresh cilantro for garnish

- Sliced chili peppers (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Filling:

   - In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken or shrimp, chopped green onions, minced ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

2. Assemble the Wontons:

   - Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center.

   - Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half to form a triangle, and press to seal. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to seal, creating a wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

3. Prepare the Broth:

   - In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable broth to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

4. Cook the Wontons:

   - Carefully drop the wontons into the simmering broth. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the top and are cooked through.

5. Add Vegetables:

   - Add the chopped bok choy and sliced mushrooms to the pot. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

6. Serve:

   - Ladle the soup into bowls, making sure to include wontons and vegetables in each serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro and sliced chili peppers if desired.
